Fell Off the Q-Tip Wagon...

Back in March, you may remember my little q-tip post, where I was making good on my promise to Jonny of not buying any more ear-cleaning q-tips.

9 months later... and I cannot take it anymore.

This has been unbelievably hard.

Harder than giving up Diet Coke (which I kind of drink again, whoops).

I'm not kidding. It has driven me absolutely CRAZY to feel like I have dirty ears and can't clean them. I never get that satisfying out-of-the-shower-clean-ears feeling anymore.

So today, I decided to just buy some.

Enough is enough. I'm an adult, blah blah blah. Right?

So, I texted Jonny:

me: "I got q tips. I can't take it anymore, sorry."

Jonny: "You might as well start smoking, too."

I'll be very careful.

fyi, pete is on his second round of ear infections (double) within a month due to the same addiction to Qtips. use with caution (if at all)!

I'm with you! I know they are a no-no, but seriously...how do people go without? Your husband's reaction cracks me up!

forgive me, but I didn't realize this was dangerous to my health? I've used them for forever (don't think I could ever give up that clean feel either) and have never had any trouble. Is my time coming?!

I don't know how you're getting along without them! I have a sick addiction myself. Mark and I have the opposite problem... he never used one till he married me... now, he's totally hooked (oops!). I bet it's genetic... our kids will get it too.

Leslie,
I don't know HOW i missed your post about Q-tip addictions (well, yes i do- i was not a subscriber at the time you posted about your addiction) but i have the exact.same.addiction. torrent (my husband) made me promise that i would only clean my ears out once a week. i picked sundays to be the day, and i literally, lived for sundays. mon-sat showers were horrible b/c i could not stand not cleaning out my ears afterwards (Afterall, q-tips are like tiny towels for your inner ear, right?!) but about 3 weeks ago i fell off the wagon and have resorted to my daily cleaning. i think it has something to do with the cold weather- it can't be good for your ears to be wet and cold can it? so far, i have managed to hide my relapse from my hubs.... but i have been sneaky! :) anyway, i totally understand what you are going through! happy q-tipping again! :)
