The October Issue

Friday, September 29, 2006

I've decided this year that I LOVE the October issues of any magazine. It's such a relief to feel the cold weather and celebrate the leaves changing, that seeing a front cover picture of two bundt cakes turned on top of each other to make a pumpkin cake is simply delightful--what a perfect cover for an October magazine. It makes me want to carve a million pumpkins and drink forty pumpkin spice lattes.

p.s. Does anyone have any particularly good sources of crock pot recipes?

My Husband

Sunday, September 24, 2006

Lately I have been wondering if I give Jonathan enough credit for being such a wonderful husband. He always cleans out the dishwasher; he finishes folding laundry when I don't finish it before work; he is patient with my crazy new work schedule; he appreciates my adherence to my monthly clothing budget (pretty tough considering I work at a clothing store--but I'm saying that he does realize how difficult it is for me); he appreciates every opinion I give, solicited or not; he created a fantasy football league for his Family just so I could play fantasy football with him; he waters my hydrangea when I forget; he puts up with What Not to Wear; he wakes me up every morning with a kiss on the cheek. He is my best Jonathan and the best husband for me.

No. 1 vs. No. 2

Friday, September 08, 2006

That's right: this Saturday is a match-up for the ages. If you've watched/surfed ESPN at all in this past week, you know that an epic battle is taking place Saturday night.

"The Ohio State-Texas game Saturday night is the first No. 1 vs. No. 2 game in the regular season in 10 years. The last one was No. 2 Florida State's 24-21 upset of No. 1 Florida in Tallahassee in 1996. This would be a great matchup just for the traditions. Legendary coaches. Heisman Trophy winners. National champions. Both schools have them, and more than one of each."

(I'm definitely Tivo-ing this game for anyone who misses it/cares to watch it again.)

Go Horns! Let's stick it to 'em one more year!
