Getting to Know You: Naps

Monday, May 15, 2006

This is one picture from the wedding day I thought was pretty. And on to my thoughts.

I think when you move, there's a period of breaking in a new bed. Thus, there's a period of time when you're not sure if you're comfortable napping because it almost requires complete comfort and familiarity with your new and very important pal (your bed).

Well, I'm ready. I'm now ready and requiring naps in my new bed. I'm completely happy with its position in the room, its height, the lighting, and for the most part, average temperature. We're friends.

About to burst...

I am dying to talk to someone about the Gilmore Girls finale. Tears were shed.

My mother-in-law has procured two small kittens, approximate ages 8-10 weeks old. The sister kitty is all black, and the brother kitty is a gray striped tabby. As some/most of you know, I am a new cat lover. They are precious. It's probably been two years since my Lily sat in my lap voluntarily, so having a tiny baby kitten sleeping on my tummy last night was an unequivocal joy. What I wouldn't pay for Lily to be a lap cat...

The girl kitten has been already named Chloe, after Miss Susie's favorite character on 24. So I think the little boy will consequently be Jack, but it's not for sure. Any other ideas?

Two hours later:

It turns out Chloe is a boy. So now their names are Lewis and Clark: Clark is the black kitty and Lewis is the striped kitty. They are very cute.

Let my disclaimer be this: I haven't updated yet because I didn't want to come empty-handed, i.e., no pictures. And I really didn't know how to put them on the blog. So there you have it.

I hope this works.

Married...check. Honeymoon...check. New drivers license...check. New JOB...check. All new; new, new, new. I'm new to marriage, new to my job, and have a new name. For those curious, my new job is the Marketing and Donor Relations Coordinator at Lifeblood, our region's primary blood donation organization. And what's awesome about starting a job the week after your honeymoon is that no one there will ever have to adjust to my new name.

So our honeymoon was perfectly blissful, minus some stomach problems, but let's be honest, stomach problems really help break the ice of bathroom habits. We really just hung out, read our books, and watched the entire 2nd season of Lost off of iTunes hooked up to our TV. It was wonderful.

Coming back to Memphis and being married has been more than fun too. For example, Jonathan really does turn his alarm clock off and then immediately get up--he wasn't kidding me before. I'm not sure if he's trying to impress me with his almost automatic wake-up routine or what, but he isn't a dawdler in the waking up process like I am, and I'm sure many of you are.

I'm not really sure what else to write; we're still processing everything, I think. I don't have any wedding pictures on either of our computers, but they should be u
